Case Study: WeedMD Inc (TSXV: WMD)
WeedMD Inc is a Southern Ontario-based cannabis cultivator that currently owns two licensed facilities, located in Aylmer and Strathroy. The firm is one of few in the industry that has successfully completed an outdoor harvest, and places a heavy focus on operational excellence. WeedMD is renowned for its high quality product offered at competitive prices, and distributed throughout Canada. Their subsidiary, known as CX Industries, is centered on extraction and manufacturing of cannabis 2.0 products to capitalize on the changing landscape within the cannabis sector.
WeedMD engaged Canacom Group in the first half of 2019 for marketing services related to raising the awareness of the company’s profile. To suit the needs of the client, Canacom Group curated custom content related to the firm, including a facility tour and subsequent write-up to highlight the operational excellence that the firm displays. Canacom continues to provide marketing for WeedMD, and maintains an effective relationship with the client.
Case Study: Tinley Beverage Co (CSE: TNY)
The Tinley Beverage Co is a California-based firm focused on creating alcohol-inspired cannabis-infused beverages for the legal recreational cannabis market. Currently focused on the market of California, Tinley recently announced its intent to enter the Canadian market through a distribution agreement signed with Great North Distributors. In addition to its own manufacturing and distribution, Tinley offers copacking and DSD distribution arrangements for firms wanting to enter the cannabis beverage space, without the hassle of formulating and manufacturing their own products.
Tinley Beverage engaged Canacom Group earlier this year as a means of raising their public profile while subsequently conducting a financing. Through a carefully curated stream of content, Canacom has worked with the client to develop a public markets marketing strategy that is impactful and resourceful, while highlighting the operational achievements of the firm. Specialty content includes highlighting items such as “A Taste of a Tinley Beverage,” and the compilation of a complete company profile. The original financing closed on a significantly upsized basis, and Tinley Beverage continues to work with Canacom Group.
